Last Friday, authorities and representatives of business and universities took part in a workshop concerning investment attractiveness, potential and promotion of the City of Katowice in the context of the “Silesia” Metropolis. The workshop was also attended by five IBM managers (Executive Service Corps) which currently work in Katowice within the framework of the Smarter Cities’ initiative.

The workshop’s participants were focusing on several economic and social areas which are identified as crucial for the City’s future development. The aim of the meeting was to prepare a set of recommendations based on an exchange of information and ideas between locals and the managers of IBM.

The IBM’s representatives will stay in Katowice for three weeks to prepare a strategy for future growth. It will finish the first stage of the programme.
