Yesterday was an expiry day of the time limit for lodging an appeal from the decision of Katowice City Hall regarding a selection of Polimex-Mostostal S.A. as a prime contractor of the International Convention Center (ICC).
“None of companies tendering for the contract filed an appeal, so the decision about choosing Polimex-Mostostal was sustained. However, according to the the public procurement law, the contract award procedure documentation has to be submitted to the Public Procurement Office to conduct an ex-ante control by the PPO President. We expect to obtain the final decision in about one month. Only then we will be able to sign the contract with Polimex-Mostostal” – said Jarosław Łuczyński, Inspector at the Investment Department of the City Hall of Katowice.
The documentation is going to be sent to the PPO President today. In compliance with the public procurement law, the submission of information on control results shall occur not later than within 14 days from the day of submission of the documentation, and in case of the highly complicated control – not later than within 30 days from the day of submission of the documentation.
The International Convention Center will be the second building (the Silesian Museum is already under construction) of the planned cultural district in the area of “Spodek” and the former “Katowice” coal mine. A total worth of the investment is PLN 304 million co-financed from the European Union funds.
