The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice is looking for a prime contractor of the new scientific, research and cultural complex to be localized between Raciborska and Koszarowa streets.
The prime contractor will raise a four-storey facility with an underground car park covering a total area of 14 250 sq. meters. The complex will be divided into two parts. The first one is designed only for the needs of the Academy and will consist of an open space for design, modeling lab, film studio, sculpture workroom, mineral and organic resources workroom, lecture rooms and offices. The second part will be generally available and will house a library and reading room, exhibition hall, projection room and a bar. A detailed architectural design of the complex was prepared by An Archi Group from Gliwice, Poland.
Interested parties can enter the bids by 6th of June 2012. The chosen prime contractor will have 23 months to erect and deliver the building.
An estimated cost of the works totals almost PLN 40,6 million excluding VAT. Authorities of the Academy apply for EU funds to finance the construction work. The Academy reserves the right to cancel the tender in case of failure to obtain the EU financing.
