First workers and machinery appeared on Piotra Skargi St. this week. The action is connected with demolition works on the former Supersam hall. Construction works are to begin in August 2013.
“I confirm the demolition works have been already started and are conducted by the SFW Warwas company from Żory” – said Arkadiusz Cyman, representative of Griffin Group, investor of the new Supersam. The building has been fenced and first disassembling works were commenced.
Almost 43 000 sq. meters of new shopping area with construction elements saved of the old Supersam hall will be erected on Piotra Skargi St. by the end of September 2015.
The new Supersam will be developed by Griffin Group, the owner of Renoma retail center in Wrocław and of a reconstruction project of “Hala Koszyki” (Koszyki Hall) in Warsaw. Griffin contracted Hochtief Polska to conduct the construction work on the Katowice mall at the end of April.
Griffin Group, a developer and investor, has acquired a development project of the Supersam shopping mall to be located in the center of Katowice. The company already chose a prime contractor of the construction work.
An estimated total cost of the undertaking will amount to approximately EUR 50 million. The fund purchased the project from Centrum Development & Investments, a former owner of the scheme. CDI will be still
