Construction works of Katowice Business Point have started in December 2008 and are focused on underground floors preparation. As the footing of walls is finished and the ground is almost removed, a concrete foundation is in progress at present. Moreover, last days have brought a new equipment to the construction site – a yellow crane which is proudly looking at works and the nearest area.
Katowice as the fourth biggest regional office market in Poland, currently comprises over 190 000 sq. m of modern space which has been already leased. The lack of new office space results in the very low vacancy rate of approx. 1%. Investors recognise the potential of the City and the capacity is going to increase.
Even the ongoing crisis that hit the growth of BPO centers in regional cities across Poland hasn’t proved much of a deterrent, according to Jeroen van der Toolen, managing director of Ghelamco in Poland. Ghelamco is pushing forward with its 17,500 sqm Katowice Business Point, to deliver early next year.
