Transformation of Dom Prasy

The former Press House (“Dom Prasy”) situated at the Market Square is currently revamped into an administrative-office building of the City Hall. A construction work conducted by Mostostal Warszawa is to be finished in the turn of Q3 and Q4 2012. However, workers have already started to install a glassy elevation with aluminium frames.

Before, the former elevation was dismantled and the building structure was strengthened.

Mostostal Warszawa will revamp Dom Prasy

Mostostal Warszawa will modernize former cult seat of the regional journals – Press House (“Dom Prasy”). The company signed the contract with the City Hall (the investor) on 8th of March 2011. The new building, located at 1 Młyńska Street at the Market Square, will reveal its new façade in October 2012.

The building, simply called by the local inhabitants the Press House, was erected in 1963 and was one of the first buildings in Poland with a glass curtain wall

Prime contractor for Dom Prasy needed

The City Hall of Katowice announced an open call for tenders interested in a redevelopment and extension of the “Dom Prasy” (Press House) building located at 1 Młyńska St. at the Market Square. Offers can be filed until 17th of November 2010. A chosen prime contractor will have 18 months to conclude construction works. The estimated cost of the investment is PLN 21,7 million.

“Dom Prasy” will change its look

“Dom Prasy” (the Press House) situated at the market square is going to be refurbished and will change its function. Designed by Marian Śramkiewicz, reffering to modernism and raised in 1963, “Dom Prasy” was appointed as a seat for regional journals. At the beginning of 2009 the last companies were moved out and the building is wating for a new face and new tenants. According to Dziennik Zachodni newspaper, the “Dom Prasy” will become a seat of some departments of the City Hall.
