Starwood looks to build new hotels

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is looking for a partner for two to four projects in Poland, the company announced last week.

“We are looking for partners with whom to open from two to four hotels at the same time. We are thinking of our AloftSM and Four Points by Sheraton brands which in our opinion would be suitable for the Polish market,” Thomas Schoen, Starwood’s regional director for Poland, told a press conference last week. He said they were keeping a particularly close eye on markets in Katowice as well as in Wrocław, Zakopane, Łódź and Szczecin, with a view to expanding into these areas.

Starwood currently operates six top hotels in the country, including Sheraton hotels in Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań and Sopot, as well as the Westin Warsaw and Le Meridien Bristol in the capital.
