PwC’s Center as marketing tool

For the past six consecutive years, PricewaterhouseCoopers has been rated number one in the Employer of the Year ranking compiled by the AIESEC International Students’ Association in Poland. Nowadays, this company which policy emphasizes coaching, learning and development of its employees, operates a new Shared Service Center (SSC) in Katowice giving a chance to improve a local labour market and the City’s image as well.

SSC in Katowice is a business unit that provides support to PwC’s Assurance departments in the region of CEE (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).

The idea of setting up the SSC appeared after the success of the same venture for Russia and CIS countries that are serviced by the Center in Kazan. The one in Katowice is supposed to operate in CEE region having polish PwC Assurance as a major client. According to the plan SSC should employ 250 people by the end of 2012.

PwC established divisions dedicated to respective countries at SSC. In order to make sure the company provides the best service quality, the Quality Assurance (QA) team was appointed. There are couple of audit specialists working who are responsible for review of work of respective teams and also building and implementation of controlling tools. Those tools have to secure the highest quality of service PwC provides.

At the moment the SSC services include the following processes:
– preparation of BAF document (Business Activity Framework)
– administration of balance confirmation process
– reviewing financial reports (statutory and IFRS)
– fulfilling Disclosure Checklists for statutory and IFRS reports
– preparing preliminary reports of financial report study
– reviewing the Management Board activity reports

The number of those processes will be growing during next months.
