The prizes are given to cities, companies and projects which had the greatest impact upon the commercial property market over the past year, as well as people whose actions contributed to the development of the whole sector.

According to the jury, the City won the title in the category “Investor-friendly City” for the actions of local authorities in the battle for developers and investors, which change the perception of the Upper Silesia region as the location dominated by heavy industry. Investments implemented by Katowice make the city more attractive place not only for working but also for living.

In this category, Katowice competed against Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Łódź and Wrocław. The award was collected by Marcin Krupa, the deputy mayor of Katowice.

One of the Prime Property Prizes 2013 went also to Neinver for Galeria Katowicka named the „Investment of the Year on the Retail Space Market”. Experts granted an award to the developer for creating a completely new-quality area in downtown Katowice and attracting brands which had been absent from the region or even the country.

“This is a special honor for me” – said Agata Brzezińska, Country Manager at Neinver Poland. “Since the opening, each day has been providing us with evidence that Galeria Katowicka is a great success. This is more than just a shopping mall; the complex comprises a railway station and an underground bus terminal, forming a new center of Katowice. We are glad that the City was distinguished for the second time. I would like to thank local authorities for their cooperation” – she added.

Other shortlisted projects in the Retail Space Market category were Europa Centralna Gliwice, Outlet Park Szczecin, Marcredo Center Ciechanów and Galeria Solna Inowrocław.

The Property Forum was organized by the PTWP SA Group for the third time.
