New IT cluster established

The regional companies, academia and government organizations join forces to work on innovative IT solutions. To constitute the efforts, the Silesian Cluster of IT was established. It was initiated by BPSC, the largest Polish supplier in designing and implementation of ERP/MRP II systems.

Already 20 economic subjects joined the cluster including the Consorg company, University of Economics in Katowice, University of Silesia and Katowice School of Economics (GWSH).

The Silesian Cluster of IT will focus on creating new products in the area of cloud computing and new solutions supporting the ERP systems. It will also help to create a joint offer of the members and to involve the IT branch in scientific and market researches.

“The conglomeration of business, universities and public representatives set within one cluster, enables to work on complex research projects. We plan to develop and implement the information technology of public management, business analytics, social media and concepts in semantic web” – said Andrzej Morawski, vice-president of BPSC and the Silesian Cluster of IT’s coordinator.
