The 23rd edition of MIPIM, one of the biggest and most prestigious commercial real estate investing forums in Europe, was commenced on 6th of March in Cannes, France. As in the previous years, the event is attended by representatives of Katowice.
About 19 000 real estate professionals are expected to attend the fair taking place from 6th to 9th of March. This year, Katowice is represented by the City Hall’s delegation, the Upper Silesian Industrial Park, the “Rawa” retail park and the Silesia Metropolis (the Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia, GZM). The exhibition stand of the metropolis covers 130 sq. meters and is the biggest from amongst all Polish exhibitors. MIPIM is also attended by Neinver S.A., which presents, among others, Galeria Katowicka and a multipurpose complex being currently built at Szewczyka Square.
MIPIM spans four days and includes 60 real estate conferences with 4 200 investors and 250 speakers. One of the events held on 7th of March, was dedicated to present and award the European Cities & Regions of the Future 2012/13 – a ranking prepared by fDi Magazine. The ceremony has celebrated the success of European cities and regions ranked with the best prospects for inward investment, economic development, business expansion and strategy of promotion. One of the awarded cities is Katowice, which was ranked the best eastern European city of the future for FDI promotion strategy and has the fifth score in the same category among small European cities.
