The second hotel under the Best Western brand was opened in Katowice. The new facility was placed in the former Śląski Hotel’s building.

The property has been under renovation over the recent years. Finally it was opened last week as a three-star facility. Mariacki Hotel offers 46 rooms and a conference area. Its main attraction is its own mini-brewery – called Browar Mariacki (Mariacki Brewery), connected with a restaurant, serving the regional food. The 8-storey hotel is located in a pre-war tenement house in the center of the city on Mariacka St. – one of the most popular parts of the downtown. It attracts both citizens and tourists, who come there to join artistic events or visit clubs and restaurants.

Before the World War II the building was occupied by the best and most popular hotel in the city – Europejski Hotel (later known as Śląski Hotel). After years the building fell into ruin and was closed in the 90s.

The Best Western Mariacki Hotel is independently owned and operated by Henryk Kania, a local businessman.
