Invasion of culture. New promotional campiagn

The City Hall of Katowice in cooperation with the “Eskadra” advertisement agency had prepared and presented today a next stage of the promotional campaign “City of remarkable events” this time titled “Invasion of culture”. The campaign is focused on a promotion of the City’s cultural events in seven biggest Polish cities, these are: Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Lublin and Katowice.

The main context of the campaign is based on the “Spodek” sport and exhibition hall, a recognizable icon of the City and a venue where important events take place, which is presented as a flying saucer approaching centers of the fore-mentioned cities. The TV spots as well as outdoor advertisements’ message pictures an attack of alien beings, which symbolizes the invasion of culture in a figurative sense. The message will be individualized depending on a city. It means, for example, citizens of Warsaw will see the flying saucer approaching the Palace of Culture and Science and surrounding skyscrapers. In Kraków, “Spodek” will be shown above the Market Square and “Sukiennice”.

The campaign will start on 7th of November 2011 and will finish in February 2012. It costs about PLN 1,5 million. Half of the amount is financed from the European Union funds. The TV spots (TVN24, TVP Kultura), spots screen on LCDs in the Saturn electronic stores, outdoor and Internet advertisements will promote such cultural events taking place in Katowice as OFF Festival, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Rawa Blues and others.
