The e-sport festival was started in the new International Convention Center, which was added to the event as the tournament and exhibition area. From Friday to Sunday, the action will also take palce in the nieghbouring „Spodek” hall, a main stage of IEM.
Intel Extreme Masters is the longest running global pro gaming tour in the world. Started in 2006 by ESL, the competition features tournaments in Europe, Asia, North and South America. ESL’s online broadcast of the Intel Extreme Masters reaches over 20 million viewers on Twitch each season. The last year’s event in Katowice gathered 73 000 visitors. Organizers expect about 100 000 guests this year. The tournament includes the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in League of Legends and StarCraft II, the ESL Hearthstone Legendary Series, Counter Strike: Global Offensive with ESL One and the Intel Challenge.
Apart from tournaments, visitors will be able to take part in many attractions – brands such as Intel, BenQ, GIGABYTE, HyperX, ROCCAT and others present their latest products, which visitors are able to view and try out. IEM will last until Sunday, 15th of March.
