European mining summit inaugurated in Katowice

The International Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy “Katowice 2011” started today in the “Spodek” sport and exhibition hall. The event, called by the branch press a “European mining summit”, has a 29-year-old tradition being organized every 2 years.

Four days of the Fair, which are taking place from 6th to 9th of September, will gather approximately 25 thousand visitors and 400 exhibitors from Poland and abroad. The products presented at the fair include comprehensive services for mining industry, from design to supply of long-wall structures. The fair is accompanied by a number of international conferences and symposiums, attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Polish government, the International Energy Agency, the World Mining Congress and European technology and R&D agencies.

An organizer of the Fair is Polska Technika Górnicza S.A. (Polish Mining Technology) which was established by key mining machines and devices producers.
