The Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park, which is one of three projects carried out by the Euro-Centrum Group with the aim of developing energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation in buildings, has signed up a cooperation agreement with the Ostrava Science and Technology Park from the Czech Republic.
The Park is created by the City of Ostrava and local universities as the Technical University of Ostrava, the University of Ostrava, the Silesian University in Opava and the Regional Development Agency. Offering about 10 000 sq. m of office, laboratory and conference facilities, the Park is a seat of hi-tech companies, mostly representing biotechnology, nanotechnology and IT branches.
The first bilateral cooperation purpose is to create a transborder partnership between industrial, science and technology parks of Southern Poland and the Northern Czech Republic, which will improve a value of these regions.
A cooperation between Katowice and Ostrava develops on many different grounds as the both cities are twinned since 1960.
