The Euro-Centrum’s Science and Technology Park is going to cooperate with the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) InnoEnergy, a new European consortium for innovative energy technologies, energy research and education. The Park signed a contract for the cooperation with CC Poland Plus, one of the six co-locations which operate under the KIC InnoEnergy.
KIC InnoEnergy is one of the three KICs (together with Information Communication Technology labs and Climate Change and Mitigation) created under the leadership of the the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). It is an institute of the European Union established in March 2008. Its mission is to increase European sustainable growth and competitiveness. The EIT has created integrated structures (KICs), which link the higher education, research and business sectors to one another thereby boosting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Thanks to the cooperation, the Science and Technology Park will be able to support companies developing in the area of sustainable energy. The innovative firms will be grant-aided within the KIC’s funds. About EUR 700 million of resources only for the period 2011-2015 are going to be mobilized by all 29 shareholders of the initiative. Innovative technologies for the energy processes, in the form of patents, new products and services as well as start ups/spin offs or businesses growth in those fields of energy will be mostly supported.
The cooperation between the Science and Technology Park and CC Poland Plus was contracted for an indefinite period of time.
