EUR 45 mln for the Clean Coal Technologies Center

An inception of creating the Clean Coal Technologies Center (CCTW) has taken place today.
The Center is a common venture of Central Mining Institute from Katowice and Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal (Zabrze). A total cost of the investment is EUR 45 million (EUR 38 m is granted from EU). Within the framework of the project, testing and research labolatories will be developed in Katowice and is also contracted a cooperation between Polish, European and US scientists to improve coal technologies.

The aim of erection of the Center is to create leading EU research and know-how development center for innovative clean coal technologies commercialization. Unique research infrastructure of the Center consisting of (among others) demonstrative installations will allow for basic research conduction and realization of demonstrative and research-development works concerning the perspective coal use technologies.
