The City Council of Katowice agreed to change the spatial development plan of the area where Echo Investment plans to build a retail and entertainment center. This is the another important step forward to launch construction works on this project.
The former spatial development plan only allowed developers to erect production and warehouse schemes in this area. After the approval of the new plan – which has to be prepared by an external company to be chosen by the City Hall – Echo will be able to kick-off its project.
The mall will be erected in the southern part of the City in the junction of Kościuszki and Kolejowa streets. “Echo Investment has already commenced a preliminary commercialization process. We negotiate the lease contracts with the biggest retail chains being present on the market. It is expected to deliver the shopping center in 2015” – said Wojciech Gepner, public relations manager at Echo Investment S.A.
The facility’s leasable area will amounts to 48 000 sq. meters. About 200 stores and a nine-screen cinema is planned in the building. Customers of the center will have approximately 2 000 parking places at their disposal.
Echo Investment is also involved in an office project in Katowice. The company builds the first stage of A4 Business Park on Francuska St. The 9 000 sq. meters building is the first one out of three planned facilities within the office complex.
Echo Investment SA is among the largest investment and developer companies with Polish capital in Europe. The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 1996. The developer has already completed over 90 projects covering a total area of 800 000 sq. meters. Echo Investment also manages investments in Romania, Hungary and Ukraine.
