Decathlon builds its first store in Katowice

A new store of Decathlon is being erected on Trasa Renców St. along “Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa”. The sport shop will border upon the Auchan shopping mall.

The store will be situated on the east side in the place of the former, two-storey car park. Demolition works have been already concluded. The underground part of the parking for 350 vehicles will be rebuilt – the store is designed above to cover 3 200 sq. meters of selling area. Decathlon will be directly linked with the Auchan building.

The company was established in France in 1976. It offers a wide range of sporting goods. The chain develops and sells its own brands. Decathlon is present in 19 countries and hires 41 thousand people. The company owns seven stores in the Silesia voivodeship in Bielsko-Biała, Chorzów, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Mikołów, Sosnowiec and Żory.
