Silesian Museum is preparing for a development of the new seat step by step. While a laborious bidding procedure to choose a prime contractor is in progress, the Museum appointed a Contract Engineer of the investment. A Warsaw’s company, ECM Group Polska Sp. z o.o., was found the best from among six offers.
The company will be mostly responsible for preparatory works including a road connection and access to a construction site, as well as a relocation of such utilities as power lines, heating and water supplies, sewage system, telephone and teletype services and gas fittings. First works are planned to be started in autumn this year.
In the meantime, a first stage of bidding procedure, which purpose is to find a prime contractor, will be finished in a few weeks. On 12th of July 2010 companies were filed theirs motion to participate in the procedure. As a result, five companies will be chosen to compete in a second stage and an invitation for these companies will be proposed in September. Theirs final motions will be filed in October 2010. A name of prime contractor will be announced after the evaluation of motions. Construction works of the new Silesian Museum’s seat would be started in the turn of 2010 and 2011. Previously, the construction works had been planned to start in autumn but protraction of proceedings delay the kick-off.
