Construction crews and building machinery still rule the center of Katowice. See on photos how the two most spectacular investment undertakings being executed.
These are the cultural district and the City center redevelopment. The district is composed of three main venues: the Silesian Museum (completed), the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra’s new seat (under construction, to be opened on the 1st of October) and the International Convention Center (under construction, to be opened in the first quarter of 2015).
The City center revamp is a complex project being conducted in the area of the Roundabout and Market Sq. At present the most spectacular part of works involves the modernization of the „Rawa” river’s bed. Construction workers have recently built a new bed of „Rawa” and now the existing bed – hidden under the ground over many years and uncovered at the end of July – will be linked with the new one.
All the works are being carried in the very heart of the City. The pictures were taken at the beginning of July from the Altus’ roof – the tallest building in Katowice.
