Cultural district one-third done

The commissioning process and performance testing in relation to the works on the new seat of Silesian Museum was ended. In general, the building is now completed and only the troubleshooting will take place inside. Construction works on the remaining two other facilities of the cultural district are still underway.

During the last 56 days the commissioning committee were checking that the performance of the total building

Cultural district takes shapes

The new cultural district in Katowice consists of three buildings which are now at different stages of development – while works on the Silesian Museum’s seat are to be concluded in a few days, the construction of the International Convention Center will be relaunched after several months of suspension.

According to the contract, Budimex is going to finish the works on the Silesian Museum next week

PNRSO celebrates topping-out of its new venue

A concert of Orchestra’s musicians welcomed guests that had gathered in the great concert hall of Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra’s new seat on Friday, 12th of April. The event was held to commemorate a topping-out of the building.

Warbud, a prime contractor of the undertaking, celebrated the day with the presence of PRNSO and City Hall (an investor) representatives as well as of Wojciech Kilar, one of Poland’s most esteemed composers.

Roof covered PNRSO concert hall

Warbud can now celebrate another milestone for construction works on the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra’s new seat – the steel structure of 11 huge girders has been covered with last concrete elements creating the final shape of the venue’s flat roof.

The steel girders weighing 22 tons each hold the concert hall’s waved ceiling, acoustic plafond and other technical infrastructure as well as the coating of concrete and corrugated iron laid above.
