Chopin Airport Development (CAD) and Marriott International are going to bring the Moxy hotel brand to the Katowice International Airport (KTW). Both companies has just signed an agreement to conduct the project.
The Marriott international’s Moxy hotel will be opened under a franchise agreement with CAD, former Port-Hotel. The company was chosen by the Upper Silesian Aviation Group, a management body of KTW, in an open tendering procedure at the end of last year. According to the settlements, Chopin Airport Development was obliged to attract a brand owner, and to finance and conduct the investment undertaking.
Moxy will be the next brand of Marriott International to be implemented on the Polish market by CAD. Previously, the company opened Courtyard by Marriott and is now preparing for the opening of Renaissance hotel at the Chopin International Airport. Also, two Hampton by Hilton hotels were delivered by CAD at the airports in Gdańsk and Warsaw.
Moxy is a new boutique hotel chain, which offers stylish communal spaces and 17-square meters rooms. The brand is mostly addressed to millennials (birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s). The first European Moxy hotel was opened at the Malpensa airport in Milan. Next facilities are scheduled for opening in Munich, Berlin, London, Frankfurt and Oslo.
At the Katowice airport, there will be approximately 100 rooms in a six-storey building. The 3-star hotel will be located in the southern part of the airport, opposite cargo facilities. The Moxy hotel at KTW will be operational at the beginning of 2019.
