A wait-and-see attitude

Before a designer of Rondo-Rynek will present the area shape and the future look of the City Center will be known, everybody needs to show patience. The design should be finalized not earlier than in the middle of 2010. katowicethecity.com is quoting CIJ Journal which asked some of the developers previously interested in the redevelopment project about their current plans. We can find out that enthusiasm has given way to a wait-and-see attitude connected with the redevelopment design works.

“In principle, we’re still interested in Rondo-Rynek, but we have to know the final project,” says Wojciech Gepner, Echo Investment’s marketing manager. Piotr Chiniewicz, Apsys’ development manager, says his company’s interest depends on whether the final plans allow for the construction of a shopping mall.

GTC and ING Real Estate wouldn’t comment on their intentions, with ING expressing only a very vague interest.

Nevertheless, CIJ noticed it doesn’t seem to be for lack of interest in the City and several important developers already have schemes underway in Katowice which includes GTC’s Francuska Office Center and Katowice Business Point of Ghelamco.
