The Silesian Museum is looking for a prime contractor for its new seat worth PLN 324 million. A construction plot and old buildings located at 6 Kopalniana St. in the area of the former “Katowice” coal mine will be transformed into a 25 000 sq. m. modern exposition and cultural facility. Interested companies can file their motions until 10th of June 2010. Construction works should start in autumn this year.
A city park located at Budnioka Sq. along Chorzowska St. in the Koszutka district will be rebuilt and equipped with new recreational facilities. Covering area of 42 500 sq. m., the park will offer multi-functional sport fields, new small architecture, children’s playground, bicycle park, enclosed dog yard and green spaces. The revitalization will also embrace new pavements and lighting. The sport facilities will include enclosed grounds for football, basketball, beach volleyball and tennis.
Cushman & Wakefield, commercial real estate brokers and consultants, has been appointed by Ghelamco Poland as a property manager for Katowice Business Point. Within the project services C&W is responsible for an operational and financial management of the building.

Atal S.A. works on a last stage of Ligota Park where the construction improves every month and it seems to be completed ahead of schedule. A raw state of buildings had finished and adding a thermal insulation to walls started. A construction of one of the two buildings is in an advanced stage as fit-out works of its facade are almost done. All the eight buildings of the complex will be a five-storey high plus an underground area for car parks.
The Medical University of Silesia chose Erbud S.A. as a prime contractor for a redevelopment of a closed hospital laundry into the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center and signed a contract worth PLN 11,2 million with the company. Erbud will have 18 months to finish building works. A total amount of the investment estimated at PLN 33,5 million will allow to revamp the two-storey building into the ultra-modern Center with necessary equipment.
