Last week, Neinver and PKP S.A (Polish State Railways) officialy presented a plan of Katowice’s Railway Station redevelopment. According to the companies contract, Neinver will develop a complex which mixed functions of a railway station, bus station, retail, business, service and culture use. Moreover, the company will prepare a necessary transport solutions near the station area. The winning project was designed in cooperation with SUD Architectes Studio.
When last year Rank Progress lauched details of Polyfunctional Center, a new mix-use complex near “Spodek” many was impressed. Everybody realized that the three towers design prepared by Q2 Studio might create a new symbol of Katowice. Dariusz Wyborski, PR Manager at Rank Progress said to katowicethecity.com what is currently happening with this project.
“Dom Prasy” (the Press House) situated at the market square is going to be refurbished and will change its function. Designed by Marian Śramkiewicz, reffering to modernism and raised in 1963, “Dom Prasy” was appointed as a seat for regional journals. At the beginning of 2009 the last companies were moved out and the building is wating for a new face and new tenants. According to Dziennik Zachodni newspaper, the “Dom Prasy” will become a seat of some departments of the City Hall.
Ghelamco Polska has signed a EUR 60 mln loan agreement with Pekao Bank. The loan will help to finance two office developments – Crown Square in Warsaw and Katowice Business Point along Chorzowska St. The KBP building will be offering 17 200 sq. m of A class office space. The construction finish is going to be postponed and the development should be ready in the Q3 of 2010. The previous note was saying about Q1 2010 as a completion date.
